Prayagraj: In the secret ballot elections held in the Indian Railways, the union affiliated to the Indian Railway Employees Federation got a resounding victory in NE Railway (NER), EC Railway (ECR), RCF Kapurthala, calling it the victory of the Old Pension (OPS). Comrade Manoj Pandey, National President of Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF) said that it missed recognition in SECR by only 270 votes. And WCR has got the right to raise the voice of railway employees by getting 16 pc votes. Apart from this, wherever Indian Railway Employees Federation has stood, it has been at the third position.
Manoj Pandey said that efforts are on to connect the unions that won the recognition election in Eastern Railway and CLW in Southern Railway to the Federation. Federation President and General Secretary of North Central Railway Workers Union said that in NCR, with the support of Workers Union and All India Trackmen Union, the independent Railway Bahujan Employees Union has surprised everyone by getting more than seven thousand votes. If the workers union had contested the elections, it would have been recognized. Both the winning unions would have been wiped out. Due to the absence of a third option in NCR, both the old anti-pension unions were successful in getting recognition.
Comrade Manoj, National President of NMOPS, Pensioner Vijay Bandhu, who played an important role in the victory of IREF in the recognition elections, Comrade Kamal Usri, National Publicity Secretary of NMSR, F.A.N.P. Expressing gratitude to Comrade Rajendra Pal, National General Secretary of SR (FANPSR) and Kantharaju VK, National General Secretary of AIRTU, he said that the organization will soon return to Prayagraj.
