Prayagraj: Paying tribute to the martyrs on the 79th Independence Day, a three-day colourful programme was organised at Kidwai Memorial Girls’ Inter College, Himmat Ganj, Prayagraj. The programme was presided over by Neelu Sethi.
Under the three-day programme organised at Kidwai Memorial Girls’ Inter College on 13th, 14th and 15th August, the students took out a Tiranga Yatra, Prabhat pheri, Human Chain and a cycle rally by the NCC cadets on the first day, 13th August. On the other hand, under the cultural programmes on 14th and 15th August, the students of Kidwai Memorial Girls Inter College and Kidwai Boys Junior High School enthralled the audience with their wonderful presentations of songs, music, drama, folk dance; qawwali etc Noteworthy presentations were the perfectly synchronised PT display and the action song by the students. A thought provoking play on national integration won the hearts of all those present. As a fitting finale, a song and dance show highlighting our rich culture and the theme of unity in diversity captivated the audience. The chief guest of the programme, Neelu Sethi, while praising the presentations, recalled the tragedy of India-Pakistan partition in 1947 and emphasized on the unity and integrity of the country. The manager of the school, Prof. Baran Farooqi, while praising the cultural programmes, appealed to spread the spirit of national unity in every home. The Principal of the college, Anjum Afshan, discussed the achievements of the school . The chief guest and the manager of the college also distributed cash awards and certificates as prizes to the students.
