Prayagraj: City Congress Committee officials expressed deep condolences on the passing of former All India Congress Committee Secretary-General Abdul Mannan. A condolence meeting held Tuesday afternoon at the party office, Jawahar Square, chaired by City President Fuzail Hashmi, described him as a loyal leader of the party. He was also a three-time candidate for the Kanpur Assembly, losing by a narrow margin. During his tenure as Prayagraj Secretary-General, he worked to strengthen the party’s city and district units. Similarly, condolences were expressed on the passing of Pyare Khan, father of City Congress Vice President Afroz Ahmed. A two-minute silence was later observed for the peace of their souls. Former UP Congress Committee spokespersons Kishore Varshney, Harkesh Tripathi, Tasleemuddin Manas Shukla, Parvez Siddiqui, Anoop Tripathi, Sartaz Mohammad, Sushmita Yadav, Ishtiyak Ahmed, Pradeep Dwivedi, Ahmed Ullah, Md. Naseem, Md. Haseen, Arshad Ali, Masood Ansari, Md. Farhan, Geeta Bharti, Md. Altamash, Kameshwar Sonkar Chand, were among those who paid tribute.
