Ex-union min Saleem Sherwani pledges support to advance Sir Syed’s educational vision

Prayagraj: The AMU Old Boys Welfare Association, Allahabad, organized a magnificent event to commemorate Sir Syed Day at Mustafa Garden in Kareli. The program was graced by Chief Guest Himanshu Dhuliya and Guests of Honour, including Saleem Sherwani, Asif Habib, Janab Waris (ADRM, Allahabad), Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Professor A.R. Siddiqui, Dr. Saeed, and Zafar Bakht, among other distinguished attendees. The Association’s leadership, comprising President Engineer Suhail Ahmad, Vice President Dr. Belal Ahmad, Advocate SaleemAhmad Treasurer Intekhab Alam, Joint Secretary Dr. M.A. Hashmi, Shahid Kamal, Shah Saud, and Secretary Syed Abrar (Chiku), warmly welcomed the guests with bouquets, shawls, and mementos.

The event commenced with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Syed Abrar (Chiku), who captivated the audience with his eloquent anchoring. The resounding success of the program was a testament to the tireless efforts of the Association’s executive members—   Mohammad Danish, Nadeem, Ziaul Huda, Farah Usmani, and Farida—whose dedication transformed the event into a historic milestone. The highlight of the occasion was Shahid Kamal, alias Bablu, who generously donated a large piece of land to further Sir Syed’s educational mission. Describing it as a humble contribution, he was honored by the Association with the prestigious “Nishan-e-Sir Syed” award. Additionally, Engineer Suhail Ahmad presented a substantial cheque to Treasurer Intekhab Alam, bolstering the mission’s foundation.

Guest of Honour janab Saleem Sherwani pledged unwavering support to advance Sir Syed’s educational vision. Mr.Asif Habib lauded the Association’s efforts, stating, “This initiative heralds a new dawn of educational awakening in Allahabad, and I stand with you in every way.” Janab Waris Ahmad emphasized the need to strengthen the foundation of Sir Syed’s educational institutions. Other esteemed guests, including Janab Nazar Jafri, Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Professor A.R. Siddiqui, Dr. Saeed Ahmad, and Zafar Bakht, extended their heartfelt wishes for the mission’s success.

During the program, Dr. Belal and Dr. Intekhab Alam welcomed the guests in a unique and vibrant manner by presenting them with red caps, adding a distinctive charm to the event. The Aligarh Tarana was sung with immense passion, igniting a wave of enthusiasm among the attendees. The program concluded with the National Anthem, followed by President Suhail Ahmad’s heartfelt vote of thanks to all participants and guests.

The evening culminated in a lavish dinner, after which all guests were presented with the AMU Old Boys Welfare Association, Allahabad’s directory and a beautiful keepsake. This event was not only a significant step toward advancing Sir Syed’s educational mission but also a shining example of social unity, collaboration, and educational awareness.
