DM inaugurated event, displaying masterpieces of 55 art masters

Prayagraj: The three-day long “Kala Acharya Exhibition Transmission” was inaugurated on Saturday at Mahatma Gandhi Kala Vihar under the joint aegis of North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India and State Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh. Chief Guest District Magistrate Prayagraj Mr. Manish Kumar Verma, Special Guest Regional Secretary of Central Lalit Kala Academy Mr. Devendra Tripathi and Director of North Central Zone Cultural Centre Mr. Sudesh Sharma jointly inaugurated the exhibition by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, District Magistrate Mr. Manish Verma said, “Art teachers are the foundation of our Indian culture. They carry forward tradition and culture through their disciples. Art is a powerful medium for the development of culture and the country.” He especially praised the work “Yoga,” based on the guru-disciple tradition, by senior painter Ravindra Kushwaha.

Center Director Mr. Sudesh Sharma said, “Keeping the new generation connected to their social values ​​and culture is a pressing need today. This exhibition is a meaningful effort in this direction.” During the program, Center Director Mr. Sudesh Sharma honored the chief guest and special guest by presenting them with robes and plants.

The exhibition was curated by Dr. Sachin Saini, Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Arts, Allahabad University. The exhibition showcases exquisite paintings by 55 art teachers from intermediate, degree colleges, and universities across nine districts of Uttar Pradesh. Approximately 200 art lovers and students, along with a large number of dignitaries, were present. The exhibition will remain open to visitors at the Mahatma Gandhi Art Gallery until October 27th.
