Prayagraj: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Anil Shastri has said that despite the BJP-Election Commission alliance, the people of Bihar will see a grand alliance government next month. However, he has doubts about the Election Commission’s impartiality. He said that people, fed up with two decades of double-engine government, want change. During a meeting with Congress members on Monday, he stated that opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s march against the SIR has had a widespread impact. People are angry that despite 20 years of BJP rule and 11 years of central government, Bihar remains the poorest state in the country, with neither industry nor employment. Shastri called Narendra Modi a weak Prime Minister, saying he constantly lies. The BJP is stealing election after election across the country. He alleged that Modi is undermining the right to vote guaranteed by the Constitution. He asserted that people’s democratic rights are under threat. He claimed that the Prime Minister won by vote theft. Speaking the truth under the Modi government is considered treason. Shastri said it is no surprise that the BJP will sideline Nitish Kumar and repeat the Maharashtra story in Bihar. He strongly demanded that the Election Commission take action against Union Minister Giriraj Singh for his hateful and offensive speech against the Muslim community in Arwal. He condemned the Yogi government for the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. Shastri extended his best wishes on Chhath folk festival and wished prosperity to the people.
