Prayagraj: The murder of senior journalist L.N. Singh has sparked outrage not only among journalists but also among the entire judicial community. The High Court Bar Association has demanded from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that the deceased’s family be provided with Rs. 50 lakh in financial assistance and a government job for his son. Several journalists briefed Bar Association President Rakesh Pandey on the family’s plight. Pandey immediately sent a letter to the Chief Minister, emphasizing the need for justice and relief. The letter described L.N. Singh as a fearless and just journalist, calling the incident a grave loss to society and the media. The Bar, demonstrating sensitivity, demanded financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and a government/semi-government job for the deceased’s son, Raj Narayan Singh. The letter also stated, “Relief from the government will boost the confidence of journalists and their families.” The Bar Association’s campaign is also receiving support from social organizations. The voices for strengthening journalist safety and respect are growing louder. The attack on the fourth pillar of society has prompted calls from the judicial and journalistic fraternity to support the family.
