Prayagraj: On the instructions of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh’s state president Bhikhari Prajapati, a memorandum was submitted to Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani at the camp office in Kidganj, led by the Mahasangh’s former metropolitan president Atul Khanna, demanding the Jansen Ganj Chowk area be named Vande Mataram Chowk. It was further stated that after the name Vande Mataram Chowk is declared, a patriotic cultural program will be organized, including the singing of Vande Mataram while hoisting the national flag in the name of great revolutionaries.

On this occasion, BJP leader Rajesh Kesarwani said that the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh’s demand to rename the Chowk area as Vande Mataram Chowk would awaken patriotic sentiments. Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani assured that the Municipal Corporation would soon take a decision on this matter.
