Appealed to participate in building a clean, green and prosperous Uttar Pradesh by planting trees

Prayagraj: On the call of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a campaign has been started to keep the environment clean, beautiful and green, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. Under this campaign, 35 crore saplings are being planted across the state on Sunday under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A target of planting 82 lakh 50 thousand saplings has also been set in the Sangam city of Prayagraj. The Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, inaugurated it by planting a sapling in the historic Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Park on Sunday morning.

Minister Nandi paid homage to martyr Chandrashekhar Azad by laying flowers at his statue. He then addressed the gathering as part of the “Tree Planting Mahayagna-2026” campaign.

By planting Harishankari plant, the resolve for environmental protection and green Uttar Pradesh was strengthened.

Banyan, Peepal, and Pakad trees are planted together under the Harishankari plant. It is believed that Harishankari plants provide us with life-giving air. Minister Nandi encouraged the attendees and youth to remain vigilant about nature conservation and to become part of this massive campaign. He urged them to fulfill their responsibility towards nature by planting as many trees as possible and participating in the creation of a clean, green, and prosperous Uttar Pradesh for future generations.

On this occasion, Phaphamau MLA Guru Prasad Maurya, District Magistrate Manish Verma, Chief Conservator Manoj Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Yadav, ADIOS Neeraj Kesari, Divisional Information Officer Indramani Pandey, Garden Superintendent Civil Defence Rakesh Tiwari, Neeraj, social worker Ravi and program director Dr. Prabhakar Tripathi along with brave soldiers of Gorkha Rifles, students of Scout and Guide and other dignitaries were present.
