Prayagraj: Under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, the “Divyangjan Rojgar Abhiyaan 2.0” was launched in all 75 districts of the state on Friday. This special campaign will be conducted from February 6 to February 13, 2026, with the aim of not only connecting people with disabilities to employment but also enhancing their inherent talents and enabling them to participate in the state’s economic progress.
On the first day of the campaign, a virtual review meeting was held at the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission Headquarters in Lucknow, chaired by Mission Director Pulkit Khare. Disability Welfare Officers, Deputy Commissioners (MSME), and District Employment Officers from all districts of the state attended the meeting. During the meeting, strategies to connect UPSDM and ITI-trained disabled youth with employment and self-employment were discussed in detail.
Mission Director Pulkit Khare directed that an updated list of trained disabled youth be compiled in all districts and linked to various employment opportunities. He also said that feedback should be collected from the 720 disabled people who had previously secured employment under the “Divyangjan Rojgar Abhiyaan” to assess the campaign’s impact, so that future plans can be made more effective.
Additional Mission Director Priya Singh, Joint Director Mayank Gangwar, Assistant Director Dr. M.K. Singh, and Dr. Pavitra Tandon, along with relevant officials from all districts, were present at the meeting. Officials were instructed to coordinate with each other to effectively implement the campaign on the ground and connect as many disabled people as possible with employment and self-employment.
