Prayagraj: An alleged Baba has been encroaching upon vacant land at Shringaverpur Dham, the place of Lord Rama’s penance and the National Ramayana Fair, one of the district’s most important religious sites. Following the District Magistrate’s orders, the Sub-District Magistrate issued a stoppage order. Despite this, the Baba is attempting to occupy the vacant land using a JCB, sparking widespread anger among locals, who are likely to surround the District Magistrate at any time. Locals have urged the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to immediately halt the construction work and conduct a high-level investigation into the matter. According to reports, the vacant land, consisting of three plots, where the National Ramayana Fair is held is used for exhibitions and other purposes, and visitors often park their vehicles there. For the past week, an individual, in the name of an organization, has been attempting to encroach the vacant land using a JCB. The case is pending in court. The SDM had also issued an order to stop it, despite that the said construction work could not be stopped, due to which there is anger among the local people. Regarding this matter, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Siyaram Saroj, Vice President of Rashtriya Ramayan Mela Shringaverpurdham, in which anger was expressed over the illegal construction and the demand was reiterated to the District Magistrate to immediately intervene in this matter and stop the illegal construction. It was decided in the meeting that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh should also be informed about the entire matter so that the existence of both Rashtriya Ramayan Mela and Shringaverpurdham is saved. In the meeting, Siyaram Saroj said that the person who is occupying this place was never in Shringaverpurdham. This person is also accused of escaping the land given in the name of the organization. Siyaram Saroj said that it is necessary to investigate the person who is occupying this place as to what purpose he is using for illegal occupation. Balram Singh Advocate, Anil Dubey Advocate, Santosh Kumar Mishra Advocate Sanjay Pandey, Doctor Rajesh Tiwari etc. were prominent in the meeting.
