Procession of disabled girls with decorated carriage, DJ & Bhangra taken out
Prayagraj: A mass marriage and felicitation ceremony for 11 differently-abled daughters was held with great joy and dignity at the Rajarshi Tandon Seva Kendra on Bank Road. The event was organized under the joint auspices of Lok Sevak Mandal, Sherwani Charitable Trust, All India Mahila Parishad (city branch) and Anaam Sneh Parivar, Maya Ornament. The ceremony concluded in the august presence of the chief guests, Justice Neeraj Tiwari and Justice Vipin Chandra Dixit.
The procession was decorated on a carriage, with DJ and Bhangra by the citizens of the city, disabled girls took out the procession, disabled brides sat on carriages and took out a grand procession from Bank Road with the tunes of DJ and Bhangra. This procession passed through Laxmi Talkies intersection and DP Girls College road and reached Rajarshi Tandon Seva Kendra. On the way, citizens welcomed the brides by showering flowers.
On reaching Rajarshi Tandon Seva Kendra, senior advocate Subhash Rathi, Dr. Bina Singh, Yamunotri Gupta, Kanta Chopra, Madhu Yadav, Dr. Sudha Pandey, Abha Mishra, Anuradha and Padmavati, Priya Rawat, Shikha ji gave a warm welcome to the brides by applying Roli Tilak and performing Aarti from a plate decorated with flowers.
Newly married brides were provided with household items necessary for setting up their household. Ten disabled individuals were also provided with tricycle-operated shops, providing them with employment opportunities to live with dignity. Chief Guest, Justice Neeraj Tiwari, said, “This event is not about assistance, but about empowerment. The foundation for self-reliance, laid by providing employment alongside marriage, is true social change. Only when we empower an individual do we strengthen the nation.”
He specifically commended the coordinator, Shrinarayan Yadav, saying, “With his courage, sensitivity, and foresight, Shrinarayan Yadav has proven that limitations lie in the body, not in the will. Justice Vipin Chandra Dixit said that this effort is a beacon of empowerment for the disabled, showing society the path to service, dedication, and equality.”
Presiding over the event, Rajkumar Chopra (National President, Lok Sevak Mandal) stated that this event represents a bold step toward self-reliance, breaking down social barriers and inequalities. The goal of this mass marriage for the disabled is to secure them a respectable place in mainstream society and ensure a new beginning in their lives. Guest of honor, Professor Avnish Chandra Mishra, described the event as a historic initiative toward social inclusiveness, respect, and self-reliance and wished the newlyweds a bright future.
The program was successfully conducted by Lok Sevak Mandal’s Secretary, Educationist Brahmaprakash Tiwari. The above information was given by employee leader Ravi Shankar Mishra, Media Incharge Lok Sevak Mandal/Anam Sneh, that on this occasion, ten eminent personalities who made significant contributions in the field of mass marriage and disability were honored by presenting them with coconut, memento, certificate, clothes, sweets and dry fruits. Among those honored were- 1-Dr. Shriprakash “Chhote Maharaj” – Priesthood Honor,
2- Anand Ghildial “Anu” (Senior Councilor) – Public Service Award, 3-Manoj Kumar Kesharwani – Samaj Prahari Samman, 4-Late Umesh Chandra Yadav “Achu” (Former Councilor) – Memorial Award, 5-Premlata Shukla – Samaj Prahari Samman, 6- Tarana Bua “Kinnar” – Vimal Women’s Award, 7-Anil Jaiswal “Neelu” – Disability Friendly Award, 8-Abhishek Chauhan – Justice Sentinel Award, 9 Dr. Sunil Bijla – Inclusive Teacher Award and 10-Javed Siddiqui – Awarded the Swaraj Entrepreneur Award.
The couples who tied the knot were: 1- Loknath with Preeti, 2- Sankatha with Azad, 3- Dilip with Savita, 4- Nandlal with Sandhya, 5- Hari Ram with Soni, 6- Monu with Shivani, 7- Sandeep with Vandana, 8- Mukul with Komal, 9- Satyam Sharma with Janaki, 10- Suraj with Priyanka, 11- Sujit with Roshni. The vote of thanks was given by Omprakash Shukla, President of Social Unity Council. Special guests Dr. Durgesh Shukla, Dr. Vinay Kumar, Dr. U.B.
