He said that, given the current global situation, reducing the excise duty on petrol from Rs. 13 to Rs. 3 per liter and on diesel from Rs. 10 to zero is a major relief for the general public struggling with inflation. Furthermore, ensuring adequate availability of diesel and ATF through export duty is a step that strengthens energy security. Srivastava said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is prioritizing public welfare and economic stability despite difficult economic conditions. He said that while the government is taking effective steps in the public interest, some anti-social elements are attempting to tarnish the government’s image. In such a situation, there is a need to make the fuel distribution system more transparent and technology-based.
