Red House wins by 12 runs
Prayagraj: The final match of the Inter House Tournament was played between Red House vs Pink House in the men’s category at SHUATS Cricket Ground. While playing first, Red House scored 159 runs in 15 overs by losing 2 wickets, while in the second innings, Pink House could score only 147 runs in 15 overs by losing 4 wickets. Thus Red House won this thrilling match by 12 runs. This match was played in 15-15 overs. Dr. Raghav Yadav, Chief Proctor SHUATS chief guest was welcomed by Mr. Ashish Massey, Head of Physical Education Department and Secretary of Athletics Committee. Guest of honor was Mr. Farsat Allah. He was a former Ranji Trophy player. He played for Bengal Cricket and Railway Ranji.
In today’s match, on behalf of Red House, Mohammad Faiz contributed 57 runs, Shivam Yadav contributed 21 runs and Pranjal Mishra contributed 32 runs, while on behalf of Pink House, Anas contributed a brilliant 75 runs on 46 balls and Bipin Singh contributed 35 runs. There was a peak of emotion at the prize distribution ceremony when a special award was announced for former university captain Shivam Yadav. He was given this special award for his association with the SHUATS Cricket Team for 5 consecutive years. Tournament Organizer Mr. Rakesh Sahu became emotional while expressing his affection for the players and saying that there are some final year players who are now playing together and on this ground for the last time. Sachin Upadhyay, the current captain of SHUATS University, played the role of sportsman spirit and led the winning team.
During the closing ceremony of the match Dr. Sunita B John, DrAchint Terrence, Ajay Kumar, Ashok Kumar Singh, Tanveer Ahmed, Sanjay Das, Naresh Kanojia, Ramachandra ( Supervisor), Azad, Narendra, Abrar and other staff and students were also present. Most promising player of the tournament-Pranjal Mishra (Pink House). Best Player of the Tournament-Anas (Pink House). Best bowler of the tournament- Monu (7 Wickets).
