Prayagraj: While paying floral tributes at the statue of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna on his birth anniversary in Prayagraj, Congress Gangapar District President Ashfaq Ahmed said that Bahuguna ji’s contribution to the freedom struggle was mainly in organizing youth energy and student movement. Prayagraj (then Allahabad) was his workplace, from where he laid the foundation of patriotism. He is remembered for simplicity, steadfastness of principles and public service. His image as the son of the Himalayas remained a symbol of mountain courage and steadfast patriotism. He took the development of Uttar Pradesh to new heights and promoted social awareness. He always worked to maintain the unity, integrity and goodwill of the country which is exemplary for us.
