Prayagraj: An important meeting of Retail Chemist and Distributor Association Uttar Pradesh was held at Kanpur Registered Office, in which State General Secretary Rajendra Saini sent a letter across the state appealing against any shutdown on May 20th. State Treasurer Praveen Vajpayee said that if any organization or individual forcibly closes drug stores, inform the police and file an FIR against them. Lalu Mittal, president of the Prayag Chemist Association, the local affiliate of RCADA, expressed his disapproval of the shutdown. Mittal said that shutdowns are not a solution to any problem. They cause immense suffering to patients. The pharmaceutical business is not like other businesses; it is a service. Our organization has always opposed online commerce, but by implementing shutdowns, we will, in a way, further promote online commerce, because when drug stores close, patients will be forced to purchase medicines online. The shutdown is not in the best interest of society or the country. Therefore, we appeal to all our business buddies to keep their establishments open. To this end, a necessary meeting will be held in Prayagraj, May 10th, to discuss the next strategy.
