Practical training given to doctors from across country in Mechanical Ventilation Workshop
Prayagraj: Dr. Dharmendra Yadav, Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, brought laurels to the institute and Prayagraj by participating as National Faculty in the national level Emergency Medicine Conference EMINDIA 2026 organized at Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), Varanasi.
EM India-2026 is being held in Varanasi from September 9 to 13, 2026. Dr. Dharmendra Yadav participated as an expert instructor in the Mechanical Ventilation Workshop held on September 10 at the Doctors’ Lounge of Sir Sunderlal Hospital. Physicians and participants from various medical institutions across the country, including those specializing in emergency medicine, anesthesiology, critical care, and pediatrics, participated in the workshop.
During the workshop, the basic concepts of mechanical ventilation, various ventilator modes, pressure-volume and flow-volume loops, ventilator settings, ventilation strategies tailored to patient needs, and safe ventilator management in critically ill patients were discussed in detail. Participants were also trained in ventilator operation and related practical aspects through hands-on sessions.
Dr. Dharmendra Yadav, while providing training specifically on ventilator loops—pressure-volume and flow-volume—explained that these loops play a crucial role in accurately assessing a patient’s condition on a ventilator, adjusting treatment as needed, and identifying potential complications in a timely manner. He addressed various medical queries of the participants and shared practical tips on scientific and safe ventilation management in critical patients.
Dr. Yadav said that such national-level workshops not only familiarize physicians with the latest medical methods and techniques, but also help provide better and safer treatment to critically ill patients. The correct and timely use of mechanical ventilation is a crucial component of the treatment of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU and emergency room.
Motilal Nehru Medical College Principal Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Verma congratulated Dr. Dharmendra Yadav on this achievement, stating that the selection of a physician from the institute as faculty on a national academic platform is a matter of pride for the entire medical college. This enhances the institute’s academic reputation and inspires young physicians to pursue excellent medical education, training, and research. Dr. Rajiv Gautam, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and other physicians also congratulated Dr. Dharmendra Yadav, calling his academic contribution a significant achievement for the institute.
