Prayagraj: The historic Dadhikando Fair at Sulem Sarai will be held on Sunday. On Thursday, the ADM City and DCP City, along with officials from the relevant departments, visited the fair area and provided necessary guidelines for the preparations. The fair committee submitted a memorandum to ADM City Satyam Mishra and DCP demanding tight security of the team and the fair.

Fair chief Narendra Kheda said that this fair is held in an area of approximately 8 km on the GT Road, from Mahila Gram Chaufatka to Begum Bazaar. It is the oldest and largest fair in the district, with a tradition dating back to 1890. Dhoomanganj is a highly sensitive area. In recent years, the lack of security arrangements has disrupted the historic procession for hours.

The committee stated that only 48 hours remain until the fair, yet large potholes remain on the link roads: Dharamveer Gali, Pandey Nursing Home Gali, Pritam Nagar, Dhummanganj, Meera Patti, Transport Nagar, and Mundera Chungi. The streetlights on the GT Road and link roads are also out. Despite numerous complaints, the Municipal Corporation has neither repaired the road nor provided lighting. Thousands of people travel these roads to visit Lord Krishna and Balram.

The ADM City assured that all preparations would be completed on time. Present during the event were Fair President Piyush Kesarwani, General Secretary Mukesh Sahu, Treasurer Ankur Rastogi, Coordinator Gulshan Arora, Rakesh Kesarwani, Dinesh Kesarwani, Ajay Gupta, Sunil Kakku, Sagar, and a large number of Fair Committee officials.
