Prayagraj: A recitation of self-composed poems was organized on Wednesday at the Regional Centre of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Prayagraj, to mark Hindi Month. Students and researchers enthusiastically participated in this Hindi Month-long event. The theme of the poetry recitation was “Official Language Hindi.” Deepesh Kumar, a PhD scholar in Hindi literature, recited his self-composed poem, “Our Hindi.” “The deepest secret of Hindi is not found in any book, but in the eyes of the woman who returns from the fields and teaches her child the alphabet.
“Pragya Bharti, an MA in Mass Communication, recited her own poem, saying, “When the first note of Udant Martand echoed from Calcutta, the identity of Hindi journalism emerged from the ink on the pages.” Saurabh Anand Verma, a student of Film Studies, recited his self-composed poem, saying, “In the evening setting on the banks of the Sangam, I settled in the arms of all the streets of Katra, I became Allahabad in myself.” During the poetry recitation, Avnish Tripathi, an M.A. Mass Communication student, said, “The sages, Fakir Ahmed Sir, protect me, Hindi is the official language of the people of the country; we are called Hindi.” Ram Sawari, an M.A. Women’s Studies student, recited a poem titled “Hindi is our world.”
Finally, Professor Akhilesh Kumar Dubey, Academic Director of the Center, thanked all the participants for their self-composed poems and extended his best wishes. The jury of the program included Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor of the Department of Translation Studies, and Dr. Satyaveer, Assistant Professor of Translation Studies. The program was coordinated and conducted by Dr. Vijaya Singh, Assistant Professor of the Department of Linguistics. On this occasion, many students and researchers including Dr. Asha Mishra, Dr. Akhtar Alam, Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Dr. Chandra Mani, Sandeep Saroj, Ajay Kumar, Archana, Rahulchandra Ravi, Rushika Nidhi, Amiya Yadav, Kaushlendra Tiwari etc. were present.
