Prayagraj: The Allahabad Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has appointed retired Uttarakhand High Court judge Justice Lokpal Singh as Administrator of the Lucknow Diocesan Trust Association amid a long-standing dispute over its management and representation. The order, passed on September 16, 2026, suspends the powers of rival boards and individuals claiming management control. The Administrator will oversee the Trust’s day-to-day operations, bank accounts, records and assets, and ensure statutory compliance.

The Tribunal has also continued the status quo on the Trust’s immovable properties, prohibiting sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of third-party rights without prior NCLT permission.

Justice Lokpal Singh has been directed to identify valid members and office-bearers, examine financial and asset records, conduct audits where necessary, and submit reports to the Tribunal. He has been appointed for one year, with a monthly remuneration of Rs. 3 lakh from the company’s funds.

The NCLT clarified that the order is an interim arrangement and does not finally decide which faction has legitimate management rights. The next hearing is scheduled for September 24, 2026.
