Lecture on “Women and Healthy Diet” held under NSS Foundation Day & Nutrition Month
Prayagraj: On the fourth day of the week-long Health Carnival organized under the NSS-Mission Shakti 5.0 program at Hamidia Girls Degree College, a constituent minority college of Allahabad University, Prayagraj, a special lecture on “Women and Healthy Diet” was organized to mark the Nutrition Month. The program was held at 2 p.m. in the college’s conference room.
Dr. Aariz Qadri, Director of Prayagraj Hospital, introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. S.K. Rai, Jagottam Ayurvedic Clinic, Prayagraj. The keynote speaker, Dr. S.K. Rai, delivered a lecture on “Women and Healthy Diet.” He elaborated on the role of nutrition in women’s health and explained that a balanced and nutritious diet is an important foundation for a healthy life. He encouraged the students to include essential nutrients in their daily diet and develop the habit of regular and balanced eating.
He explained that a balanced diet, a regular routine, and health awareness are essential for maintaining women’s health. He encouraged the students to stay healthy themselves and spread nutrition awareness within their families and society.He stated that women face various physical and health-related conditions in their lives, making it crucial for them to stay healthy. He encouraged the students to include essential nutrients, along with the six flavors and amla, in their daily diet, to develop regular and balanced eating habits, and to avoid junk food. He also provided information about the challenges associated with menopause and how to prevent them. He emphasized that a healthy digestive system and adequate sleep are essential for maintaining strong immunity. He emphasized proper nutrition, a balanced diet, and a healthy lifestyle as the foundation for women’s health and encouraged the students to stay healthy themselves and spread nutrition awareness within their families and society.
Following the lecture, the keynote speaker conducted a question-and-answer session on healthy living and healthy eating, in which the students participated enthusiastically.
Earlier Principal of the college, Prof. Naseha Usmani, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of the NSS Foundation Day and the objectives of Nutrition Month. She encouraged the students to be about health, nutrition, and social awareness.
The program began with a Hamd recitation by Ms. Sahar, a third-semester BA student.
The program was conducted by Dr. Shabnam Ara, Department of Geography, Hamidia Girls’ Degree College, and the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sabiha Azmi, Coordinator, Health Committee, Hamidia Girls’ Degree College. The students actively participated in the program, which concluded with the national anthem.
An oath-taking ceremony was also held at Hamidia Girls Degree College on the occasion of NSS Foundation Day. Students and NSS volunteers pledged to fulfill their responsibilities towards society and the nation, to work with a spirit of service, and to play an active role in social awareness and public welfare activities.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at 11 a.m. on the college campus under the leadership of Liaison Officer Professor Sabiha Azmi, Program Officers Dr. Shabana Aziz and Dr. Shabnam Ara. On this occasion, students were informed about the objectives of NSS and its role in social service. Speakers stated that NSS is an important medium for developing a sense of service, discipline, social responsibility, and commitment to the nation among youth.
College Principal Professor Naseha Usmani extended her best wishes to the students on NSS Foundation Day and encouraged them to work with a spirit of responsibility and service to society. There was active participation of girl students and NSS volunteers in the programme.
