Prayagraj: In Prayagraj, the city of religion and culture, Ramlila performances are in full swing on the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri. The life of Lord Shri Ram is being brought to life on various stages across the city, but this time, a special performance on the stage of the Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Committee in Civil Lines has captured the entire city’s attention. The role of Kumbhakarna, played by local artist Sudhakar Singh, left such an impact on the stage that the audience was mesmerized. With his powerful acting, sharp dialogue delivery, impressive gestures, and aggressive demeanor, Sudhakar Singh brought the mythological character Kumbhakarna to life. The moment he appeared on stage, the audience was captivated. Ramlila Committee officials praised his outstanding performance, saying they had rarely seen such a lively and impressive performance before. Sudhakar Singh credits his guru, Jagdish Bandhu, for his tremendous success and the acclaim he has received throughout the city. Emotionally, he said, “Whatever I am today is because of my guru.” I have learnt the nuances and small things of acting from my guru Jagdish Bandhu for the last 15 years, it is his guidance that has brought me to this position today. This dedication of Sudhakar Singh not only shows his respect towards his guru but also proves that there is no dearth of talent among the local artists, they just need the right platform and guidance.
