Prayagraj: Under the aegis of Shri Shri North Central Railway Ramlila Committee, the scene starting from Sita Haran to Lanka Dahan was staged. Under this, Ram, Lakshman and Sita are sitting in Panchavati. It is a very beautiful scene. Meanwhile, Surpanakha comes and gets fascinated by seeing Ram and Lakshman and proposes marriage to Ram, which Ram rejects and asks her to marry Lakshman. Then she goes to Lakshman and asks him to marry her too, which Lakshman also refuses and Lakshman cuts off Surpanakha’s nose. Surpanakha tells this to her brother Ravana and tearfully asks him to take revenge. Ravana feels very bad about this and he sends Marich, disguised as a golden deer, to the forest to seduce Sita. Marich, disguised as a golden deer, roams in front of their hut in Panchavati. Seeing this, Sita asks Ram to hunt the deer. Ram goes to the forest to catch the deer. At this time, Ravana makes a noise in Ram’s voice as if someone has shot an arrow at him. Hearing their cries, Sita asks Lakshman to send them to protect them. Lakshman initially refuses, but at Sita’s insistence, he goes. Before leaving, he draws a Lakshman Rekha outside the hut and says, “Don’t go beyond this line.” After Lakshman leaves, Ravana approaches Sita, who is begging alms among the sages, and asks her to come outside the line to give him alms. When Sita crosses the line to give alms, he abducts her and takes her to Lanka. When Lakshman reaches Ram, he finds that Ram is fine. However, upon seeing Lakshman, Ram expresses his fear of something untoward happening. He returns to Sita and finds that Sita is missing. Worried, Ram and Lakshman search for Sita and reach Shabari’s ashram. Shabari feeds them stale berries. Further on, they meet Jatayu. Jatayu tells him that Ravana, the king of Lanka, has abducted Sita. Then, Ram and Lakshman follow Jatayu’s path, where they meet in Kishkindha. After befriending Sugreeva, Rama kills Bali. After befriending Sugreeva, he meets Jambavan and Hanuman. Sugreeva, along with everyone, forms a huge monkey army and sets out in search of Sita, but due to the sea in the middle of Lanka, no one is able to go there. Then Jambavan says to Hanuman, “O Bajrangbali, now only you can do this task.” Bajrangbali does not realize his strength, due to which Jambavan reminds him of his strength and says, O Bajrangbali, wake up and use your strength, only you can cross the ocean. Then Bajrangbali remembers his strength and with the conch blowing, he prepares to cross the ocean and departs for Lanka.

Then, Ravana orders Hanuman’s tail to be set on fire. Hanuman enlarges his tail. The courtiers tie oil-soaked cloth to his tail and set it on fire. Hanuman then proceeds to the palace and sets the palace, its ramparts, and all of Lanka ablaze. The golden Lanka erupts in flames, spreading fear among the inhabitants and demons of Lanka. Hanuman then jumps into the sea, extinguishes the flames in his tail, and approaches Sita, standing with folded hands, and says, He asks, “Mother, please give me some sign so that I can tell the Lord that I have come after meeting you.” Then the Mother removes the Chudamani from him and tells him to tell the Lord to go and take us away from here as soon as possible. Hanuman returns from Lanka and gives Mata Sita’s message and Chudamani to Ram Ji. Then everyone is very happy and Ram Ji makes Angad his messenger and sends him to Ravana with a peace proposal.

Arvind Pandey in the role of Ravana, Guddu Khan in the role of Meghnath, Shivendu Rai in the role of Mandodari, Sita Alka Laxman Ravi and Aditya in the role of Ram gave a very commendable performance. During the staging, committee members Sant Kumar Verma, Ravi Bhushan Gupta, Shiv Naresh, Sanjay Singh, Raghavendra etc. were present.
