Prayagraj: On the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in the month of Kartik, a grand five-day religious program began on Tuesday at the Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Temple in Sangam. The temple was beautifully decorated with flowers for the celebration. From the morning of the first day, a large number of devotees arrived to visit and worship Bajrangbali. A devotional atmosphere pervaded the entire complex. The program began with the ritualistic installation of Shri Ganesha. Following this, the Shri Ganpati Atharvashirsha havan was performed in the temple premises. Under the guidance of Mahant Balbir Giri Ji Maharaj of the Baghambari Math, Brahmins and learned pundits from South India conducted the havan amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. Devotees offered oblations during the havan. The eight substances included coconut, banana, honey, sugarcane, ghee, modaks, jaggery, puffed rice, and laddus. At the end of the ritual, a grand aarti was performed, in which devotees participated and received the blessings of Bajrangbali. In the evening, Prakar Shuddhi and Rakshaghna havan were organised in the temple premises. Through this, the purification of the temple premises and the welfare of the people were wished for.
