Prayagraj. The pandal of Shri Katra Durga Puja Barwari is being made of Dhak this time. To give grandeur to the 106-year-old Puja pandal, the artisans of Kolkata’s famous Chandan Nagar village are preparing it by performing Bhoomi Pujan on the occasion of Independence Day, 15 August. Barwari’s Principal Secretary Abhin Varshney says that about 20 artisans are working day and night to make the pandal by bringing all the decoration material from Kolkata. The structure has been prepared after tireless efforts of the last 18 days. Varshney says that the grandeur of the pandal will be worth seeing in 10 to 12 days. The process of eco-friendly construction of the pandal and other idols including the mother, which is counted among the oldest pujas of the city, has been taken care of, so that there is less damage to the environment and the negative impact of the ecosystem of nature is also reduced. He told that Dhak pandal means a Puja pandal in which Dhak musical instruments are used. As soon as the Dhak is played, a festive atmosphere is created in the pandal, which makes the puja lively. It is said that Palash leaves have been used to decorate this pandal. It is also told that Katra Barwari has been famous for its offerings in the city since the beginning, about 4-5 thousand devotees take the offerings in the pandal on all three days of Saptami, Ashtami and Navami.
