Prayagraj: The inaugural session of the Design Development and Technology Workshop, sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, was held with great enthusiasm today. This training program is being organized by Chail Handicraft Producer Company Limited, Chail, Kaushambi district. The chief guest of the program was Vishal Verma, Handicraft Promotion Officer, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Prayagraj. In his address, Mr. Verma stated that innovation in design and technological advancement are essential for the development of the handicraft sector, which will enhance the skills of artisans and increase the market competitiveness of their products.
This training program will run from October 7, 2025, to November 6, 2025, with a specific focus on embroidery crafts. A total of 30 artisans are participating in this training. The training is being conducted under the guidance of Master Craft Person Mrs. Manorama Devi and Designer Mr. Shubham Jaiswal. During the inaugural session, participating artisans were encouraged to improve the quality of their products by incorporating modern designs and techniques into traditional crafts. The workshop aims to empower rural artisans economically by training them to meet the needs of the modern market.
At the end of the programme, the Director of the company, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra expressed her gratitude to the office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and said that such programmes play an important role in bringing positive changes in the lives of artisans.
