Prayagraj: General Manager of North Central Railway, Naresh Pal Singh inaugurated the modern Electric Traction Control Centre (Traction Remote Control Centre) established in Prayagraj Divisional Office. On this occasion, officials of North Central Railway Headquarters, Divisional Railway Manager Prayagraj Division Rajneesh Agarwal and officials of Prayagraj Division were present. This centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, through which monitoring, control and operation of electric traction system can be made more effective, safe and efficient. The General Manager inaugurated the modern Electric Traction Control Centre by getting the ribbon cut by Senior Technician TRD Om Prakash. Shri Om Prakash, who is working as a Senior Technician in TRD department, will retire in December 2026.
The newly established control center will play a vital role in enhancing the reliability of rail operations, as well as in cyber security, energy management, and continuous monitoring of the power supply system. This state-of-the-art facility will ensure rapid analysis of technical information related to rail operations and better decision-making.
Following the inauguration, the General Manager inspected the Electric Traction Control Center and directed the concerned officials to ensure high quality services and make maximum use of modern technologies. He stated that this facility is a significant achievement for North Central Railway towards safe, efficient and modern train operations and will further strengthen the railway infrastructure keeping in mind future requirements.
On this occasion, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer/TRD, Virendra Verma gave detailed information to the General Manager and officers of Central Railway regarding the functioning of the Electric Traction Control Centre and cyber security through PPT.
It is noteworthy that the Electric Traction Control Center located at Prayagraj Divisional Office has been upgraded from RDSO SPEC-130 system to RDSO SPEC-134 system. The new system has more advanced data access speed and accurate and quick information will be available even in the event of communication disruption with NMS (Network Management System). This will significantly increase the efficiency of fault resolution, system improvement and operational tasks. On this occasion, the General Manager inaugurated the modern Electric Traction Control Center by getting Senior Technician TRD Om Prakash to cut the ribbon. Om Prakash is working as Senior Technician in TRD department and will retire in December 2026.
