Organizing street play under corporate social responsibility
Prayagraj: Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited has organized various programs from May 16 to May 31, 2026 under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign under the ambitious ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ of the Government of India. In this sequence, today, on May 28, 2026, the Corporation, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), organized special street plays in the project-affected villages and nearby villages of Isota and Piprao, along with distribution of jute bags in Piprao. This program was organized at two places, benefiting about 500 people.
The main objective of distributing jute bags was environmental protection, encouraging people to avoid using plastic, thus preventing future environmental problems and diseases.
The theme of the play, “Every Home Clean, Every City Clean,” was to raise awareness about cleanliness among all sections of society, especially youth and children. The play presented the importance of cleanliness in an engaging and impactful manner. Meja Energy Corporation believes that cleanliness is not just a personal responsibility, but is essential for the overall development of society. Through this play, the Corporation sought to educate people about the importance of cleanliness and inspire them to actively participate in building a clean India.
Many important points were presented in an artistic manner in the presentation, such as –
1. Need for scientific segregation of waste (separation of wet and dry waste).
2. The growing threat of single-use plastic and its adverse effects on the environment.
3. Essential role of personal hygiene in preventing diseases.
Cleanliness is a serious challenge facing our society, one that can be addressed not only through cleanliness campaigns but also through public awareness. Meja Energy Corporation’s “Every Home Clean, Every City Clean” campaign is an important initiative in this direction. Its objective is to educate local communities about the importance of cleanliness and inspire them to adopt it in their daily lives. The Corporation believes that only when every citizen is committed to cleanliness will it be possible to build a healthy and prosperous society.
This initiative not only encourages physical cleanliness, but also strives to promote mental and social cleanliness. The CSR team, the village head, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion. The local community expressed their support for this initiative and appreciated the efforts of the Meja Energy Corporation. This street play was staged by Prayagraj’s renowned theatre organization, “Nukkad Natya Abhinaya Sansthan, Prayagraj.” The play was written by Devendra Rajbhar and directed by Krishna Kumar Maurya. Actors Ajay Kumar, Jagriti Maurya, Krishna Raj Yadav, and Pradeep Kumar delivered impressive performances, spreading the message of cleanliness to the masses.
