Prayagraj: The aided colleges of the district are Kulbhaskar Ashram PG College, Mahila Seva Sadan Degree College, Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth, Lala Lakshmi Narayan Degree College and Handia PG. Regarding the excessive delay in payment of salaries of the teachers and employees of the college, the teachers union and employee representatives jointly met Director of Education Professor Shashi Kapoor, Assistant Director of Higher Education Professor S.K. Met Pandey and Finance Officer Ajit Kumar Singh and held detailed talks.

During this period the Regional Higher Education Officer was found absent.Describing the period of their absence and the status of leave as unfortunate, the teachers’ union informed the higher officials that despite the lapse of almost two months, due to the inaction and administrative apathy prevalent at the regional level, about 200 students from the above mentioned five colleges are yet to appearMore than 100,000 teachers and employees are deprived of salaries and are facing financial difficultiesThe delegation also made it clear that teachers and employees are facing serious problems at family, social and economic level due to continuous non-payment of salaries. In the talks held with the officials, everyone gave positive assurance for cooperation and solution to the problem, but till when will the problem be solvedWill happen, no clear time limit has been set in this matterIn view of the above circumstances, the teachers union has unanimously decided that talks will be held with the District Magistrate in this matter and in case the problem is not resolved soon, there will be non-cooperation in college work as well as in university examinations and other examinations.

It was also decided that if the problem is not resolved by the coming week, then a phased agitation, protest demonstration and further strategy will be decided on this issue.

On this occasion, University Teachers Association President Professor Pawan Kumar Pachauri, General Secretary Professor Bipin Kumar, District President Professor Ramlakhan Pal, Kulbashkar Ashram Post Graduate College President Professor Dharmendra Singh, General Secretary Professor Pramod Yadav and Vice President Professor Anurag Tripathi were presentPutting forward his views, he demanded an early solution to the problem and made it clear that ignoring the interests of teachers and employees will not be accepted under any circumstances. The teachers union has requested everyone to reach the DM office on 29th and has also called upon the teachers to boycott all types of work on this day.
