Drums of Muharram played, Lallan Nai’s flag taken out

Every community takes name of son of Zahra, great respect for Karbala in flag

Prayagraj: Chand Raat – With the beginning of the holy month of Muharram, the first procession of the historic Muharram Committee of Allahabad started with great pomp. After Maghrib prayers, Fateha was recited and tabarruk was distributed to the children. After Isha prayers, the Alam was raised. This procession departed from Lallan Nai’s Imambara on Chand Raat with all its pomp and show. Dhol Tasha Party and Shehnai were playing mournful tunes. Children riding on e-rickshaws were raising slogans of Ya Ali Ya Hussain. Women were offering flowers of devotion to the Alam and making wishes. Lallan Nai’s Alam is taken out every year in the memory of Hazrat Imam Hussain and 72 martyrs. When the Alam reaches Katju Road, it seems as if a flood of Hussaini people has come.

Everywhere, slogans of Labbaik Ya Hussain Ya Ali Ya Hussain were being raised, remembering the martyrdom of Hussain. The procession passed through its traditional old routes, passing through Mohalla Dondipur, Sunari Gali, Pancho Qabra, Katju Road, Maurya Hotel, Dondipur Maidan, Barntala, Shahnoor Ali Ganj, Sabzi Mandi, Latif Market Square, Ghanta Ghar, Bajaja Patti, Kotwali, Sivai Mandi, and Patthar Gali, and again reached Lallan Nai Imambara and concluded.

A large number of devotees were present on this occasion, who saw the Alam with full devotion and offered flowers. All the Taziadars of the city participated in the Alam procession and the committee honored them by giving them turbans. The procession was led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, in which a large number of devotees including Meraj Ahmed, Fayaz Ahmed (Faizi), Sameer Ahmed, Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Samad, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Faizan, Mohammad Saif, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Irshad, Mohammad Aijaz, Mohammad Arif, Nayabuddin, Moinuddin Mehboob Dabar, Mohammad Aamir, Akram Shagun, Mohammad Fayaz (Faizi), Asrar Niazi, Nadeem Khan, Faiz Jamal, Rumi Kaleem, Saif Ali, participated.
