Prayagraj/Lucknow: Under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) organised a Financial Awareness Programme for Army personnel at Central Command Headquarters, Lucknow. The programme aimed to promote financial literacy, investor awareness and responsible investment practices among serving personnel.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by Army personnel of all ranks. Lieutenant General C J Jayachandran, Chief of Staff, Central Command, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The session also included addresses by Shri Manoj Kumar, Executive Director, SEBI; Shri Ankit Sharma, Chief Regulatory Officer, NSE and Shri Joginder Singh, Vice President, NSE.

The initiative was undertaken by CS Shruti Sharma of NSE with the objective of enhancing financial awareness among serving Army personnel and enabling them to make informed financial decisions.

During the programme, the speakers shared valuable insights on investor protection, financial planning, securities market awareness, cyber fraud prevention and the importance of prudent investment choices. The sessions also highlighted the need for caution against fraudulent investment schemes and emphasised informed participation in the securities market.

NSE and SEBI expressed their appreciation to Central Command Headquarters for its support and cooperation in organising the programme. The initiative contributed to the larger objective of strengthening financial literacy and investor awareness among Army personnel.
