Conducts no-holds-barred inspection of SRN Hospital
Prayagraj: Dr. A.K. Verma, the newly appointed Principal of Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, conducted a thorough inspection of Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital (SRN) upon assuming office. During the inspection, he reviewed the hospital’s facilities and interacted with patients, their families, doctors, and staff to learn about their concerns.
During the inspection of the Trauma Center, three ward boys were found absent. Taking a firm stance, the Principal ordered a show-cause notice be issued to the concerned employees and directed the agency concerned to terminate their services if such negligence is found again in the future. During the inspection, it was also found that despite adequate stretchers being available, they were not being made available to patients on time. The in-charge was issued a stern warning and directed to immediately improve the arrangements.
Relatives of patients admitted to the ICU of the Trauma Center expressed satisfaction with the medical facilities. Meanwhile, the supervisor and ward in-charge were warned when the sanitation system in Ward No. 2 was found to be unsatisfactory.
The Principal directed to keep the help desk set up outside the OPD fully functional and advised the staff posted there to behave sensitively towards the patients and their attendants.
Inspecting other wards of the hospital, Dr. Verma also directed the provision of adequate fans, coolers, drinking water, and other essential amenities for patients in view of the heat. He stated that providing quality and timely healthcare to patients is a top priority.
During the inspection and round, Neuro Physician Dr. Kamlesh Sonkar, Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Singh, Dr. Jitendra Shukla, Dr. Suryakant Ojha, Dr. Amit Yadav along with nursing staff and other employees were present.
