Prayagraj: On 29th Zilhijja, the moon of the month of Muharram was confirmed. The President of Shia Central Moon Committee issued a letter from Lucknow informing about the sighting of the moon of the month of Muharram. Thus, the first Muharram will be on Wednesday. Syed Mohammad Askari, spokesperson of Anjuman Guncha-e-Qasimiya Bakshi Bazaar, said that the sixty-six-day long Ayyam-e-Aza has begun with the procession of Istiqbal-e-Aza. The ten-day Ashara from the first Moharram will begin in the morning from Masjid Qazi Sahib Bakshi Bazaar, then sequentially at Imambara Nazir Hussain, Hata Khursheed Hussain, late Abrar Hussain and late Zawar Hussain, after that at Azakhana Matloob Hussain in Roshan Bagh, then at the Azakhana of Imambara Mojiz Abbas Murabbi late. In the day, the second round of prayers will be held at Imambara Deputy Zahid Hussain located at Chak Zero Road, Shia Jama Masjid, Chhoti Chak Imambara, Bahadurganj Imambara Wazir Haider, Gur Mandi, Imambara Safdar Ali Beg located at Paan Dariba, Ghantaghar Imambara Syed Mian Sabzi Mandi Shahnoor Ali Ganj. Ashara will begin and in the localities like Rani Mandi and Dariyabad Karaili, the period of Majalis will continue from after Maghrabain prayers till late night.

Lallan Nai’s Alam procession and Istiqbal-e-Aza procession started late in the night: Lallan Nai’s ancient procession was taken out from the Nakhas Kohna Gali Imambara Kallan Nai late in the night with devotion and respect, which like previous years was taken out from its ancient Imambara, which after patrolling on its fixed routes and visiting the devotees, reached back to the same Imambara and concluded. At the same time, Istiqbal-e-Aza procession was taken out from Rani Mandi Nawab Nanhe’s Kothi, which after raising the voices of Noha and Mourning in the streets of Rani Mandi, reached Dr Chadha Road slope and concluded by reaching Shahrukh Qazi’s Azakhana.
