Kids had a gala time visiting Easter fair
Prayagraj: On Monday, an Easter fair was organized under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Praveen Massey at St. Peter’s Church grounds in Muirabad. The coordinator of the fair was David Dutt and co-coordinator was Donald Frederick. People of all age groups who came to the fair enjoyed the extravaganza immensely. The fair was inaugurated with cutting of ribbon by the chief guest, Bishop Morris Edgar Dan of Diocese of Lucknow. More than 50 stalls were decorated in the fair and to make the fair more attractive, a lucky draw was also organized in which the first prize was 32 inch color TV, second prize was washing machine and third prize was microwave and there were 20 consolation prizes. Along with this, the categories of Best Decorative Stall and Best Couple of Evening were also kept. The stalls of handicrafts, games, clothes and delicious dishes were attracting people in the fair. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the children regarding the fair. Children enjoyed swings like Mickey Mouse jumping and Columbus, while youth were seen enthusiastic about games like ring throw and ball throw.
Jesus’ picture locket and the holy cross were also sold extensively in the fair. Women thoroughly enjoyed chaat, burger, puri, kebab, biryani etc. at the stalls. Chief guest Bishop Morris Edgar Dan told reporters that this fair of Muirabad St. Peter’s Church has been taking place on Easter Monday for years and he has been coming to this fair every year during his studies in his youth. He told that the special thing in this fair is that it has been seen that the members of the church work together with full hard work, due to which people of other religions and castes also come and enjoy this fair.
He said that fair is not only a means of entertainment but also a platform to showcase one’s skills. The connection of every fair with the religious, cultural and social traditions of this country is a proof of how these fairs create unprecedented joy, excitement and entertainment in the minds of people. Fair is an important part of our social life. It eliminates the monotony of life and fills it with happiness. Fair provides an opportunity to meet other people and get to know their culture. Rev. Praveen Massey, pastor of St. Peter’s Church, organizer of the fair, said that the food items and other items sold in the fair have been kept at very affordable prices so that people of every income group can buy and enjoy them. He also thanked the Pastoral Committee of the Church.
Easter dinner organized at St. John’s Church: Easter dinner was organized at St. John’s Church located on Katju Road in which people from churches participated. A coupon of Rs 120 per person was given for Easter Dinner. Church pastor William Hari Prasad said that the Easter dinner program is an effective way to build trust, belonging and relationships among people and break cultural, social and other barriers. He told reporters that he is very proud of the fact that the members of the church are skilled in doing all the work together and this talent of theirs sets them apart from everyone else. GHS Principal Dr. Vinita Eusebius, Alan Dan, Preksha Dan, Ajay David, Sangeeta Haq, Avinash David, Ajay Grey, Monisha Grey, Martha Massey, Balbir Prasad, Vimal Prasad, Victor Nath, Sunil Verma, Rakesh, Akash Tripathi were present in the program.
