12-day national craft fair kicking off from Sunday at NCZCC
Prayagraj: The National Craft Fair is going to be organized from December 1 by the North Central Region Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Various states will be participating in the National Craft Fair. Colorful variety of folk songs and folk dances will be seen. In this fair which will run till 12th December, there will be many colorful programs under the theme ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’. The crafts fair not only provides a platform to artists and craftsmen from across the country, but also offers a glimpse of Indian traditions and heritage. A unique celebration of crafts and taste, the fair showcases famous handicrafts, fabrics, jewellery, wooden products and traditional crafts from different states. They will display paintings. Craftsmen from 22 states including Uttar Pradesh will showcase their craft products, ranging from blue pottery from Rajasthan to silk sarees from Varanasi and handloom full silk fabric from Bangalore and hand embroidered Kota from Madhya Pradesh, silk clothes, shawls from UP, Jharkhand, Bihar. Other products like Jaipuri quilts, stone jewelery from many states will also be seen. The diversity of India will be visible in every workmanship, along with this, visitors will also be able to taste the cuisine of different provinces including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar.
The evening will be decorated with folk dances and easy music – this fair has remained a center of attraction for the people of Prayagraj for the last many years. Every day, folk artists from many states of the country will present their culture through colorful cultural presentations on the Muktakashi stage. Director in-charge of the centre, Ashis Giri, said that special efforts have been made in the fair to connect the young generation with tribal, folk, classical, sub-classical singing and playing as well as dance. Field artists will be the center of attraction – Field artists of Rajasthan will entertain the audience with theatrics, Bam Rasiya of Haryana and Chakri dance of Rajasthan. Shobha Yatra will be taken out – Shobha Yatra will be taken out from the center premises from 2 pm on Sunday, 1st December, which will reach Subhash Square via AG office, where Civil Lines Udyog Vyapar Mandal President Neeraj Jaiswal, famous singer and General Secretary Swati Nirkhi, Regional Councilor Pankaj Jaiswal. Artists will be given a grand welcome by other businessmen.
