Prayagraj: The Basic Flying Training School (BFTS), a premier flying training establishment of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Air Force Station Bamrauli, Prayagraj, celebrated a significant milestone with the successful completion of the 214 ICG Stage-II, 214 APC (H), and ICG Stage-I courses. Established on 09 October 1987, BFTS has been a beacon of excellence in imparting ab-initio training to pilots, preparing them for the challenges of modern military aviation. The valedictory function, held on 30 November 2024, was graced by Air Commodore Sagar Singh Rawat VM (G), Air Officer Commanding, 23 Wing Air Force, as the Reviewing Officer (RO). He was received by Wing Commander Gagan Sikri, Commanding Officer, BFTS.
In his address, the Reviewing Officer commended the graduating officers for their exceptional commitment and perseverance, emphasizing that the completion of such a demanding course reflects the high standards of the Indian Armed Forces and the relentless efforts of the trainees. He expressed confidence that the graduates would uphold the legacy of excellence as they embark on their professional journeys. The ceremony included the presentation of certificates to the graduating officers and trophies to those who excelled during the course. Capt SK Singh stood first in flying while Lt Manas Shukla lifted the trophy of first in ground subjects and overall order of merit for stage I. Asst ComdtSonmale Suraj was best in ground subjects while Asst Comdt Abhineet Gupta stood first in flying and first in overall order of merit for Stage II.
The rigorous five-month training program has equipped a new cohort of pilots with advanced knowledge and operational capabilities essential for both combat and humanitarian missions.
