Accused of falsifying documents
Prayagraj: Principal of the city’s prestigious Boys High School, David Andrew Luke, has got anticipatory bail from the MP/MLA Special Court in a criminal case. This order has brought relief to David Andrew Luke for the time being. He has been serving in the school for decades. An FIR was registered against him under various sections of fraud in Civil Lines Police Station. Special Judge Yogesh has given this order after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and David Andrew Luke’s advocate.
The court directed that if the applicant is arrested, he should be released on personal bond and sureties. Also, he has been ordered to cooperate in the investigation and not to tamper with the evidence. The court held that there is no need for custodial interrogation in the case, as the matter is related to documents. The court also said that in the present circumstances, it is appropriate to grant protection from arrest.
In this case, charges like cheating, forgery and criminal intimidation have been filed against him in Civil Lines police station under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. He has been accused of documentary irregularities and misconduct in school administration. This case was filed by Morris Edgar Dan in which it has been said that the mark sheet he presented with his signature in the year 2012 is fake. The lawyer on behalf of David Andrew Luke argued in the court that he has been implicated in a false case and all the work done by him under his administrative duties was done honestly. It was also said that the case is completely based on documents and there is no criminal intent in it.
