UPS instead of NPS introduced by the GoI on Aug 24
Prayagraj: All the employees of all zones and divisions of Indian Railways will celebrate Art Day on 24th August by wearing black bands at their workplaces and protesting against NPS/UPS. And a public awareness campaign will be run from 15th August to 20th August to make the program successful in support of old pension by holding gate meetings during lunch break and evening break. Giving the above information, National General Secretary of Indian Railway Employees Federation IREF, Comrade Manoj Pandey said that the above decision was taken in the virtual meeting of the National Executive of IREF.
National Executive officials were present in the virtual meeting of Indian Railway Employees Federation, which was held under the chairmanship of National President Com. Narsingh Kumar and under the able supervision of National General Secretary Com. Manoj Pandey. Along with that, officials from all zones and divisions were also present. In the new executive meeting of the federation, while emphasizing on the issues decided in the last meeting, extensive discussions were held on strengthening the union in all zones and production units, registering new unions in some zones, strengthening the federation to fight for the interests of railway employees, and also strengthening the organization financially.
Finally, with the consensus of all, it was decided in the National Executive that NPS / UPS is a curse for the employees, hence, strongly opposing this, to give a decisive turn to the restoration of old pension and privatization Quit India Movement, Indian Railway Employees Federation and Front Against NPS in Railway will celebrate Black Day on 24th August with great enthusiasm.
National President of the Federation Com. Narsingh Kumar and National General Secretary Com. Manoj Pandey jointly informed that the Zonal Unions affiliated to IREF, fighting for the employees of Indian Railways, have demanded that the duty of all railway employees including trackmen, pointsmen, gatemen should be made eight hours. Mileage allowance of running staff should be increased by 25%. Bonus should be paid as per 7th Pay Commission. Keeping in view the safety of rail passengers, security of trains and work load, merger of railway departments and surrender of posts should be cancelled immediately. A nationwide campaign will be launched by raising these demands.
In the virtual meeting, Narsingh Kumar, Manoj Pandey, Rajendra Pal, Kamal Usri, Pushpendra Tripathi, Surendra Nath Vishwakarma, Sandeep Tiwari, Subhash Yadav, Sanjay Tiwari, Akhilesh Yadav, Shivendra Pratap Singh, Ramesh Singh, Moti Ram Meena, Syed Irfat Ali, Sandeep Singh, Afsar Hussain, Tulsi Yadav, Amar Singh Meena, Rahul Chaurasia, Saroj Meena, Awadhesh Sahni, Rajesh Kumar, Vinod Yadav, Rakesh Kumar, Shiv Kumar Yadav, Sudhir Babu, Vinod Botham, Chandrabhushan Pandey, Sarvesh Tiwari, Kamlesh Kumar, Ram Pratap Patel, Amar Singh, etc. were mainly involved.
