Students learnt mantra of discipline and empathy
Prayagraj: The foundation course for newly admitted MBBS students of the 2025-26 batch began on Monday at the city’s historic Motilal Nehru Medical College. The program was organized in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC). Inaugurating the program, college principal Prof. V.K. Pandey instilled in students the values of self-care, discipline, integrity, and empathy. He emphasized that becoming a doctor is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about social service and responsibility. On this occasion, Professor Binu, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Professor Preeti Gupta, Head of the Department of Physiology, Dr. Badal Singh, Hostel Warden, Dr. Archana Kaul, Professor Khurshid Parveen of the Department of Community Medicine, and Professor Subia Karim Ansari, Nodal Officer for Cultural Activities, introduced the students to the intricacies of medical education and college life.
Proctor and Head of the Urology Department, Professor Dilip Chaurasia, provided detailed information on anti-ragging and the grievance redressal policy. Librarian K.P. Singh explained the facilities at the Central Library. Students and parents interacted with teachers, wardens, and librarians during the session. Dr. Nishtha Singh, coordinator of the Foundation Course, also guided the newly admitted students and introduced them to the college’s first-day activities.
