On Saturday night, the Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Committee in Civil Lines, Prayagraj, staged the play Ram’s exile and the meeting of Bharat with Chitrakoot. It began with the aarti of Ram, Sita, and Laxman performed by the chief guest, Mr. Ashish Keshwani, Director, RSPL, Prayagraj. In its enactment, the scene of King Dasharatha discussing with his ministers and considering his condition, declaring that he would make Ram the king and himself go to the Vanaprastha Ashram was presented. When the gods heard this declaration of Dasharatha, they confused Manthara’s opinion through Mother Saraswati. After this, Manthara misled Kaikeyi and went to the anger room and advised her to ask for two boons from King Dasharatha. In the first boon, Bharat should be given the kingdom of Ayodhya and in the second, Ram should be sent to the forest for 14 years. Hearing this demand of Kaikeyi, King Dasharatha faints. Kaikeyi also calls Ram and Lakshman and orders them to go to the forest.

When Ram, Lakshman and Mother Sita begin preparing to become Sita, Kaikeyi strips off their royal robes in the palace and dresses Ram and Lakshman in the attire of forest dwellers. The sight brings tears to the eyes of all the audience. King Dasharatha, mourning Ram’s departure to the forest, gives up his life. As per Guru Vashishtha’s instructions, Bharat and Shatrughna are summoned from their maternal grandparents’ home.

Seeing the situation in Ayodhya, Bharat and Shatrughan scolded Mother Kaikeyi. Along with the entire population of Ayodhya and their ministers, they set out for Chitrakoot to bring back their brother Ram. On the other hand, when Ram calls Kevat to cross the Tamsa River, the conversation between him and Kevat captivated everyone. When Bharat ji arrives in Chitrakoot with his three mothers, guru, and the people of Ayodhya, the love between Ram and Bharat moved the audience to tears.

There was a lot of dialogue between Maryada Purushottam Ram and Bharat. Ultimately, under the mediation of King Janak and Guru Vashishtha, Bharat ji was given the responsibility of running the state power of Ayodhya by symbolically placing the sandals on the throne as the representative of Ram.

During this program, the chief patron of the committee Anil Gupta, patron Dr. Subhash K Yadav, president Amit Singh, secretary Ajit Jaiswal, manager Shankar Suman, Arvind Yadav, vice president Vishal Kanaujia, vice president Neeraj Kheda Pawan Ji Srivastava, director Jagdish Bandhu, Anant Dubey, Banti Dubey, Pankaj Chaudhary etc. were present. On Sunday, Sita Haran and Hanuman Sita Milan will be staged.
