70 units deposited, blood supply available 24 hours a day
Prayagraj: On the 118th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the New Apna Blood Bank in George Town was inaugurated. Speaking to the media, renowned surgeon Dr. Sunil Vishwakarma, the director, stated that the JD Charitable Foundation has already helped 10,000 patients through its Andawa-based Apna Blood Bank. Given the ever-increasing number of patients, the New Apna Blood Center was inaugurated in the George Town area near the Medical College on the occasion of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary. Renowned surgeon Dr. Santosh Singh, co-principal of Motilal Nehru Hospital, stated that the New Apna Charitable Blood Center is dedicated to society from today. The blood center will be available 24 hours a day. As per government regulations, the per-unit charges for packed red blood cells will be Rs. 1450, plasma Rs. 400, and platelets Rs. 400, respectively. Free blood will be provided for complex diseases requiring continuous blood supply, such as thalassemia and sick cell anemia.
The blood donation camp was started by garlanding the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh by Nikhil Srivastava, President and Manager of National Social Security Organization and Apna Blood Bank and Manager Virendra Singh..!!
First of all, renowned laparoscopic surgeon Dr Sunil Vishwakarma and co-principal of Motilal Nehru Medical College Dr Santosh Singh donated blood and then the crowd of blood donors took a pledge to save lives by donating blood one by one..!! All the blood donors were honoured with certificates, T-shirts, mugs..!! Renowned dignitaries of the city were present on the occasion of inauguration.
