Prayagraj: On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, the annual convention of the District Crime Prevention Committee Prayagraj was held today with great enthusiasm and dignity at Arya Kanya Inter College, Mutthiganj, Prayagraj.
The program was presided over by State Chairman Mr. Kamlesh Srivastava, while Senior Jail Superintendent, Central Jail Naini, Mr. Vijay Vikram Singh was present as the chief guest. As special guests, Honorable Mayor and Vice Chairman of the Committee Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Arun Kumar Tiwari, Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal (Chairperson Aryakanya Teachers Group), Anurag Pandey (Vice Chairman Bar Council Uttar Pradesh), Ajay Kumar Giri (Assistant District School Inspector), Rakesh Chaurasia (Superintendent, Child Reform Home, Khuldabad), Mr. R.S. Verma (Former Divisional Commissioner), Rakesh Dwivedi (Treasurer Committee), Laxmikant Mishra, Legal Cell Incharge, Alok Singh, Anil Kumar Singh, Prem Shankar Gupta, Aligarh Ashish Singh and many other dignitaries were present.
Chief guest Mr. Vijay Vikram Singh, describing the committee’s activities as socially beneficial, said, “There is no evaluation of these selfless works. I am always ready to cooperate with the committee in every possible way.” Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani said – “I am proud to be a part of this committee, which is playing an important role in taking public welfare schemes to the society by working shoulder to shoulder with the government and administration.” Anurag Pandey assured to provide free legal aid, while Ajay Kumar Giri appreciated the contribution of the committee in the field of education and awareness. Magician Nagendra Pratap Singh presented a drug de-addiction awareness program at the event and administered a pledge to everyone to quit drugs. In the same vein, committee officials, led by Senior Superintendent Vijay Vikram Singh and Deputy Jailer K.P. Singh, distributed fruits and sweets to the prisoners at the Naini Central Jail.

From the women’s cell, Usha Singh, Manju Rani Pandey, Sudha Gaur, Sonika Kesari along with their subordinate teams continued to make special contributions. The program was conducted by Dr. Prabhakar Tripathi (Vice Chairman of the Committee) and Organization Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra. The vote of thanks was given by the program’s president, State Chairman, Mr. Kamlesh Srivastava. During the convention, 255 officials, volunteers and officers who made outstanding contributions in the field of education, health, social service and administrative cooperation were honoured by presenting them with certificates, mementos and Angavastram.
