Markets crowded with individuals buying household necessities
Prayagraj: The festival of lights, Kartik Krishna Paksha Trayodashi, begins on Saturday. Vehicle purchases were rampant on Dhanteras, while the markets were vibrant, but the same excitement was lacking. This Dhanteras, the bullion market is estimated to see purchases worth Rs. 200-250 crore (approximately $1.25 billion). Gold and silver prices have also increased. Dinesh Singh, president of the Indian Bullion and Jewelers Association, says the market is vibrant this year, but there’s little business. Dinesh Singh explains that this year, along with coins, silver fish, gold biscuits, and gold and silver Ganesh and Lakshmi idols are in high demand. This year, most people are buying these. On Dhanteras, people are buying silver coins, idols of Lakshmi and Ganesh, as well as Lakshmi and Narayan idols. On Diwali, we should embrace the “local for vocal” mantra and encourage others to shop from local shopkeepers. On Dhanteras, people bought gold and silver jewellery, silver coins, silver Lakshmi idols, silver utensils, diamond jewellery, gold and silver jewellery and utensils from Gopi Jewellers shop at Loknath intersection in Chowk.
Dinesh Singh, District President of Indian Jewellers and Jewellers Association, said that shopping has increased in the market during the festive season. This time there has been a slight decrease in business as compared to last year. He said that silver coins here range from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 and gold coins range from Rs 1000 to Rs 137500. Shopkeepers are trying to provide better items of people’s choice. This time silver broke its record, 1 kg silver was Rs 170500 and on the festival of Dhanteras, gold 10 grams was Rs 131500.
The markets of the city’s Chowk Loknath were decorated. There was so many crowds in the markets that it became difficult for people to walk. In view of the crowd, the police administration had banned the entry of e-rickshaws and four-wheelers half a kilometer before the markets. People went to the markets on foot and kept busy shopping. Lakshmi’s blessings showered on the markets all night and there was a heavy rain of money. Due to inflation, Ganesh Lakshmi and jewellery made of silver, gold and brass were purchased.
