Prayagraj: SHUATS Technical Officer Prateek Kumar stated that dry weather is expected in the district for the next five days, with daytime temperatures ranging from 31–35°C to 22–23°C at night. Meteorologists have not predicted any rain. Farmers have been advised to be vigilant about slight moisture deficits in standing crops, irrigate on time, and monitor for pests in rice and vegetable crops. For rabi crops, sowing wheat, barley, mustard, and lentils should begin with certified seeds, while field preparation for linseed, peas, garlic, potatoes, and cauliflower should be done with proper moisture management. Livestock farmers should ensure adequate shade and clean water to protect against heat, and free FMD vaccinations are ongoing. Fish farmers have been advised to maintain oxygen levels in ponds and avoid overfeeding.
