Prayagraj: The grand opening ceremony of the 7-a-side Inter-School Football Tournament held at Bethany Convent School, Naini, Prayagraj, took place today, November 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the school premises. The program began with a welcome song and welcome dance, followed by an impressive march past by the participating schools. The participating schools included Tagore Public School, Ambika School, Ford School, DPS School, Bethany Convent School, Bal Bharti School, and Ramanujan School. In his inspiring address, the chief guest, Mr. Pankaj Pandey (IPS), DCP Protocol, Prayagraj, encouraged students to actively participate in sports and highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness in life.
In his address, the special guest Mr. Raunak Gupta, Chief Warden, Civil Defence, Prayagraj appreciated this excellent effort of the school and gave the message to the students to achieve excellence equally in education as well as sports.
The welcome address was delivered by Principal Sister Dr. Shamitha, who warmly welcomed all the guests and participants and stated that sports strengthen students’ personality development, unity, and self-confidence. Guests were welcomed with bouquets of flowers presented by sponsors Mr. Ayush Agarwal, Mr. Madhav Pahwa, and Mr. Arpit Tiwari. They also expressed their best wishes for the tournament’s success.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Manager Sister Christine, who expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guest, sponsors, teachers, and all the schools. The entire program was successfully completed with the support of the school’s sports teachers – Mr. Deepak Kumar, Mr. Mohammad Sabir, Ms. Preeti Singh, and Ms. Richa Pandey, and the activity in-charge, Ms. Nazia Shaikh. The tournament will run from November 10th to November 13th, 2025, in which teams from various schools will play exciting matches with sportsmanship and fairness. Day 1 Result: In the opening match played on the first day, Bethany Convent School defeated Ambika School 5–0 with a brilliant performance.
