Prayagraj: The issue of encroachment and sale of Church of North India (CNI) lands in Jhansi has now escalated. According to sources, illegal construction and occupation worth crores of rupees are continuing on these properties. The staff quarters and institutional lands of the church have now come under dispute. It is being reported that some former and current church employees have occupied these properties without valid allotment and are now selling them. Among the key names involved are Neeraj Masih and Stephen Singh.
Reliable sources reveal that Sameeksha Hackett allegedly handed over church property to land mafias for one crore rupees, on which construction work is now going on at full scale. The land sold by Sameeksha Hackett was later inspected by Kiran Masih along with some others (video of Kiran Masih to be inserted here).
Local organizations claim that due to administrative and political patronage, this racket is continuously expanding. Land mafia Abhishek Bhargava, said to be an associate of Jhansi Sadar MLA Ravi Sharma, is leading the encroachment and construction activities.
According to sources, MLA Ravi Sharma took possession of land belonging to Christian Inter College, Civil Lines, Jokhan Bagh, Jhansi (22 square feet), which is CNI property, in the name of his wife. However, instead of writing his wife’s name, he allegedly used the name of his daughter Kedar nath Dubey, opened a “Samadhan Kendra” in front, and started living in the principal’s bungalow behind the school.
