Arrangements in effect prior to 6.11.2025 to remain for smooth functioning of schools, says HC
Prayagraj: Allahabad High Court has ordered that the accounts of BHS and GHS should be operated jointly by both the Principal and an ADM rank officer so that the college continues to function smoothly. The court stayed the operation of the single bench orders dated November 6, 2025, modified order dated November 26, 25 and a part of the order dated November 28, 2025 and directed that the special appeals filed against the orders be presented for hearing on January 28, 2026.
This order was passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra while hearing appeals filed by the Managing Committee of Allahabad High School Society and others, including churches. The single bench had ordered that the accounts of the institute be managed by the Principals, District Magistrate and Police Commissioner and Justice Umesh Kumar be appointed as observer to verify the records and hold meetings.
The Division Bench of High Court Prayagraj comprising Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra stayed the order of High Court dated 6.11.2025 by which Observers were appointed in Boys High School Prayagraj and Girls High School Prayagraj on 12.12.2025 and said that the school will continue to function in the same manner as it was functioning before 6.11.2025.
The single bench gave several other orders on issues like conflict and irregularities between institutions, criminal proceedings etc. The society’s lawyer said that all parties agreed to stay the single bench order until the appeal was heard. The court said that it will take time to hear the appeal. And has stayed one of the directions of the controversial order of the single bench. There is a dispute going on between the Church of North India and the Church of India Burma, Pakistan and Ceylon regarding the running of the institution.
