Prayagraj: A major controversy erupted in the Uruwa development block when it came to light that the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Uruwa still doesn’t know who the current Member of Parliament (MP) of the Allahabad parliamentary constituency is. Vinay Kushwaha, representative of MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, expressed strong displeasure over this matter, saying, “Ignorance of the public representative whom the public elected with a huge majority to the country’s largest Panchayat—Parliament—is a direct insult to the public mandate and the democratic system.” He said that an official holding such an important position as the BDO not even knowing the MP from his constituency is not only shocking but also shows how seriously the officials are addressing regional issues, development plans, and the work being undertaken by the MP.
