Prayagraj: An enriching and insightful workshop for the staff members of Girls’ High School and College was held on Saturday on the theme “Enhancing Teaching Skills through Effective Teaching and Classroom Management.” The programme began with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by Scripture Reading that highlighted the values of wisdom, leadership, and lifelong learning. The Principal, Rev. Dr. Vinita Eusebius, warmly welcomed and introduced the distinguished resource person Chandra ShekharVarma, a renowned Soft Skills Trainer, Behavioural Scientist, Motivational Speaker, Coach, and Author.
The training session focussed on strengthening classroom leadership, enhancing soft skills such as communication and confidence, and using storytelling and literature to make lessons more engaging. It also highlighted key aspects of effective class management including creativity, competency-based learning, and reducing rote methods. The resource person emphasized technology integration, effective communication and meaningful assessment for learning, offering teachers practical strategies to enrich teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
Varma stressed the importance of creating engaging and student-centred lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. He encouraged teachers to understand individual needs and motivations, fostering environments where confidence, inquiry, and positive behaviour flourish. The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the staff members, who appreciated the practical ideas, classroom-ready tools, and renewed inspiration shared during the session. Teachers expressed that the training strengthened their confidence and enriched their teaching perspectives. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks and a Closing Prayer, reaffirming the school’s commitment to meaningful, value-based education and transformative learning.
