Prayagraj: The demand for construction of Shri Ram rest houses for the convenience of devotees on the Ram Van Gaman Path under construction from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot was raised in the Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha MP Amar Pal Maurya drew the attention of the Central Government by placing this important issue before the House during Zero Hour.

MP Amar Pal Maurya said that the approximately 210 km long Ram Van Gaman Path from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot is a very sacred and historical route related to the exile period of Lord Shri Ram. This path has the faith of crores of devotees, who want to undertake a religious journey following the footsteps of Lord Ram. In such a situation, devotees have to face huge difficulties due to lack of proper arrangements for rest, water, toilets and accommodation on the route. He suggested that Shri Ram rest houses should be constructed in a phased manner at 20-25 kilometers on Ram Van Gaman Path, where devotees can rest. Besides, basic facilities like first aid, drinking water, cleanliness and safety should also be provided in these rest houses. This will not only provide convenience to the pilgrims, but will also promote religious tourism.

The MP said that after the construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, there has been an unprecedented increase of three hundred percent in the number of Ram devotees and this number is likely to increase further in the coming times. In such a situation, it is the need of the hour to make the Ram Van Gaman Path well organized and convenient. BJP district media in-charge Umesh Tiwari told that the MP said in the House that between Ayodhya to Chitrakoot via Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, stalls of one district one product can also be set up at Shri Ram rest houses like Amla stalls in Pratapgarh, Moonj stalls in Prayagraj and SultanpurA banana stall can be set up in Kaushambi. The MP urged the Central Government to take this proposal seriously and prepare an action plan soon, so that the devotees can experience a smooth and safe journey on the forest path of Lord Shri Ram.
